Skylab is tech startup, operating from Plano, Texas. Their main focus is to provide a tailored white glove experience for entrepreneurs, brands, and other businesses. They are looking for a revamped website to help increase their online presence to go in hand with their new social platform that will be launching later in 2022.
Restoring power and choice to entrepreneurs and organizations. It's time to offset the social dilemma.
I want to perform a cohesive research plan in figuring out how to gather information by outlining the research goals and methods to stay on track during this phase. I wanted to understand why people look for their own social platforms. I started with product research, so that I would gain a solid understanding of the industry at large. I also took the time to identify Skylab's competitors and narrowed down the demographic that I should be interviewing.
Here are a few trends I saw through my research:
I used the data I collected from my participants interviews to then create my persona. I referred back to my notes and interviewees answers from the empathy research and then grouped the commonalities I saw from the interviews, which gave me my insight and needs.

Garrett owns a Car Expo company where he focuses on providing content and selling goods to his users. His main concern is being able to create a platform for his users to engage with one another and browse content and shop his products. Building a custom app is difficult and very time consuming. He wants to be able to fill all his gaps while doing it in an efficient manner.
